Because I’m writing this from memory three years later, I’m going just to use a lot of pictures.
I had no intentions of hiking Marshall when I started this morning at the LOJ. I made it to lake colden and just decided I was going for it.
Today I was flying according to the time I took the pictures on my phone:
I arrived at Marcy field at 6:17
Marcy dam by 7:07 am.
Avalanche pass 7:57
Midway down the SE side Lake Colden 8:37
Top of Marshall 10:17
The south end of Lake Colden 11:38
Top of Colden 2:10
The south end of Lake Colden 11:38
At this point, I stopped taking pictures; my pace had slowed, and I just wanted out. The previous 14 miles was taking its toll. I’m starting to realize that around 4500 ft of elevation gain for the day I begin to slow down.
Time: alot, Distance: 17.8 miles, Elevation Gain: 4849
